Sustainability

Enriching Lives Through
Sustainable Solutions

Across the world – especially apparent in developing countries – water management and clean energy are in a state of crisis.

Billions worldwide are still living without clean drinking water, adequate sanitation or basic electricity and heating. Resources are scarce and current management systems are struggling, if not failing. Proposed techniques and solutions are also not immediate enough, too expensive, inaccessible or simply inefficient.

In line with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, we employ not just technology but also economic and business understanding to address complicated situations with simple, achievable and cost-effective solutions.

Towards A Net Zero Carbon World by 2050

Doing our part in addressing climate change, Ranhill has established its long-term target of net zero carbon by 2050. To realise this aspiration, Ranhill has formed interim milestone goals and supporting strategies for this journey.

Promoting and protecting our people’s health and wellbeing is crucial in helping them realise their abilities and cope with the stressors of life.

  • Safety at Work

Ranhill adopts a zero-compromise approach to Occupational Safety and Health (“OSH”). With a total of 3,909 employees, Ranhill has achieved a record of 7.4 million man-hours without a loss time incident (“LTI”) and zero fatalities. For the Health and Safety Performance, there has been a reduction in Incidence and Frequency rates of 6.3 and 3.3 respectively (FY2020: 13.6 and 5.5). In addition to that, as Ranhill’s priority at all times, zero public health and safety incidents were reported.

  • Health and Safety-Related Training

The continued vigilance on OSH is supported through regular training. Training ensures the relevant staff possess the necessary knowledge and competence to function effectively in their roles, especially for those serving in OSH Committees.

  • Covid-19 Management

All operating companies have ensured compliant operations in line with SOPs for physical distancing, limited manpower and operational hours (where relevant). We have also implemented regular COVID-19 testing and requirements for face masks and other precautionary measures.
